The Categories

The 2011 Awards comprise three category types – business choice (categories voted by the local business community), independently judged categories and people’s choice (voted by the public).

Any business with premises in the Port Macquarie local government area can be nominated or self-nominate for the awards.

Businesses are automatically entered into the popularly voted categories and can choose to enter the independently judged categories.

The independently judged categories have grown in number and popularity in recent years as local business has discovered that the self analysis involved in entering is illuminating.

Excellence in Business

For businesses that achieve outstanding results in business revenue, community contribution, business planning and processes and innovation.

Disability Friendly

For businesses that have introduced initiatives to ensure products and services are accessible to people with a disability.

Environmentally Sustainable

For businesses that that are working to reduce the impact of their operations on the environment, and/or provide products or services that have positive environmental outcomes.

Embracing Technology

For businesses who are embracing technology to improve their operations.

Voted by Public

People’s Choice

This award is chosen by the general public who will vote for the business they believe to be best in the Greater Port Macquarie Hastings Region.
